The 39 fence UK Chasers cross country course at Shardeloes Farm Equestrian Centre winds through our 500-acre estate of rolling hills and fantastic scenery. Other facilities include 2 outdoor ménages and indoor school, a well established riding school for all ages and abilities, including Merlin, our fully interactive mechanical horse, an equine hydrotherapy spa, and a full range of livery services from working to competition livery. A popular choice is to come and use the cross-country course followed by a session for your horse in the spa. For more information or a guided tour please contact us. Our extensive facilities include an indoor school and two competition size rubber-surfaced outdoor ménages, and 500 acres of stunning off-road hacking in an AONB. We cater for a wide-ranging variety of horses and needs and our professional livery services include working, rehabilitation, schooling and competition. There are also bolt-on, set and be-spoke packages available to suit every requirement.
We also run a British Horse Society (BHS) approved riding school, and are an approved BHS ‘Where to Train Centre’. A recent addition is the UK’s first fully interactive mechanical horse ‘Merlin’. Our Rehabilitation Yard incorporates the Hydrotherapy Unit. This is used as a preventative measure either routinely or after strenuous work to heal all manner of lower limb wounds and is especially good for soft tissue injuries. Shardeloes Farm Equestrian Centre is home to UK Chasers course No.1 – a smart professional course which can be used to educate all levels of rider from the first time cross country experience to an international professional. With no public highways to cross, it is also ideal for aerobic or general fittening work and long distance or cross-country carriage training. Directions:
Cherry Lane is off the A404 between High Wycombe and Amersham. It is signposted Shardeloes Farm Equestrian Centre and Woodrow. For parking simply pass the Equestrian Centre itself and you will find the UK Chasers car park on the right hand side within the wood. Please park up and proceed to our reception area in the cabin to sign in. Please respect our isolation policy and avoid other horses on the premises. For Health and Safety reasons we operate a ‘No Dogs’ policy anywhere on the farm other than in your own vehicle.

Featuring wide open spaces, a water feature, jumps that range from 1’6 to 3’6, steps and ditches, deciduous and coniferous woodland and woodland clearings, the Elveden course travels through 4 miles, does not cross any public roads, and has some of the most pretty and untouched examples of countryside that the Brecks have to offer. With approximately 50 variable jumps the course offers a challenge to a range of ability.
Start and finish points are at the Estate Shop where you will also need to book in. Opening hours of the course reflect the opening hours of the Estate Shop and can be found on our website. Generally opening times are Mon-Fri 9.30am – 5.30pm, Sat 9am – 5.30pm, Sun 10am – 4pm. To avoid disappointment advance booking is advised. Groups are welcome. The Estate Shop and Café Restaurant also serves hot and cold food and drinks throughout the day – a perfect way to unwind.
Directions:
In Elveden: from the north (Thetford), turn right off the A11 100 yards passed the church. From the south (Barton Mills) turn left off the A11 100 yards past the post office. Follow the signage for the Estate Shop and Café Restaurant. Use the designated parking for horse course riders. Check-in is at the main tills in the Estate Shop.
Please remember to sign off on departure.
To exit: follow internal signage onto B1106, and then re-join the A11 at the Elveden Village traffic lights.

4 mile ride, 2.5 mile cross-country course – 50+ jumps (1’3” to 3’3”) Open all year

Additional info:
This course has a good variety of obstacles including two water complexes which are built on a grass route through gently undulating farmland and woodland tracks. Jump heights are: 1’3”, 2’3”, 2’6”, 2’9” and 3’3”. There is also a showjumping area which can be booked separately. Please ensure that you telephone or email to book and report to the farm office prior to riding. No dogs allowed on the course.
Directions:
From Salisbury/Andover: take the A343. At the George Inn, Over Wallop, turn off to Nether Wallop. Follow the road through Nether Wallop towards Broughton. Dene Farm is signposted to the left on a sharp right hand bend. From Stockbridge: take the A30 to Salisbury. Turn right to “The Wallops”. After 1 mile you come to a T junction, turn right into Nether Wallop. Dene Farm, Wisdom Lane is on the right.

Craven Chasers is set within 600 acres of grassland. The course is constantly under review and is changed on a regular basis to provide fresh and interesting routes. The course now features many new fences suitable for event training. It is a great confidence builder for a horse rider. It has to be one of the best places available anywhere for fitness and conditioning. The club house has a 4 oven Aga for DIY tea and coffee. Home made biscuits also included in the course fee.
Directions:
Coniston Cold is on the A65 Skipton to Settle Road. From Skipton, Take A65 through Gargrave into Coniston Cold. Take the only left turn into Moorber Lane. ½ mile along the lane, the course is located at the first farm on the right

The course has been professionally rebuilt, aiming to provide an ideal facility for Pony and Riding Clubs, instructors and the individual wanting to school. De-stoned and sown to a gallops mix, the new schooling area gives superb going in nearly all conditions, and includes a new water complex, steps, ditches, and a wide variety of fences. There are 3 levels of jumps from 0.6m to 0.9m (pony club level 1-3) as well as a few fences (less than 0.5m). The Hunter Trial course offers every chance to practice for competitions and can be arranged differently for every competition by adding portable obstacles individually or in combination. The course is available for ODE’s and Hunter Trials as well as Pony and Riding Club rallies, and training is available to hire as a group or individually by calling the booking line. The course lies 2 miles north of Winchester. Access is from the Three Maids Hill roundabout where the A34 meets the B3420. Take the exit signed “The Worthies”. Warren Barn Farm offers some 400 acres of farmland on the North Downs, yet is within 20 miles of central London and just a few miles from the M25 (junction 6). The course offers good going all year round. Every one of the 30-40 jumps (between 2’ to 3’6”) is optional, including steps, hedges and ditches. There is also a well-established water complex and approximately 6 miles of tracks. The course is suitable for a scenic hack (with views of Canary Wharf on a good day) or for the more serious rider who is looking to train and improve fitness. Several miles of hard surfaced tracks have been constructed around the farm suitable for carriage driving. There is ample hard standing for parking, 60m x 30m sand school also available for hire, and several flights of point to point training fences situated on a ¾ mile grass gallop with a rising gradient. From M25: Take junction 6 exit, proceed on A22 northwards. At roundabout at end of carriageway, take 5th exit signposted Woldingham. Follow Woldingham Road, go under high bridge to a junction on right hand bend. Go straight on (not round the bend!) into Halliloo Valley Road (Formerly Slines New Road) golf course on your left. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile, down a hill and then up a steep hill. On your right is a tall, wooden Woldingham signpost, turn sharp right there, into Slines Oak Road.* Follow this road down hill, Warren Barn Farm will be on your left. * THIS TURN IS TOO TIGHT FOR VERY BIG BOXES – IF SO CONTINUE UP THE HILL AND TURN LEFT AT T-JUNCTION. Set In 400 acres of undulating farmland, in the beautiful Welland Valley. The course will be continually developed and a water complex is planned for 2009. Overnight stabling can be arranged at the farm with 4* B&B accommodation 2 miles away. Also the home of Grange Farm Argentinian Criollo Horses where you can experience Western riding.

Directions:
From the A47 take the B6047 (south) to Market Harborough. At Tur Langton turn left onto the Hallaton Road. Cranoe is 3 miles and Grange Farm is first drive on the left as you enter the village.

From the A6 Market Harborough take the B6047 (north) to Melton Mowbray. At Tur Langton turn right to Hallaton then continue as above. NB. Height restriction 13’ bridge. If this is a problem go to Kibworth and follow signs to Tur Langton

Interval training and schooling within easy ear shot of your trainer. Wide selection of fence types: Ditch, Coffin, Skinnies and more. Water planned for 2010. Excellent grass take off and landing sites. Solid yet portable obstacles moved regularly.

Do not rely on sat nav it is incorrect! Please see directions M62 FROM WEST Take Junction 22 off the M62. At ‘T’ junction turn left onto A672 to Ripponden. Continue for approx 4 miles. At the traffic lights in Ripponden go straight ahead. Once through the lights take the immediate right onto the B6113 signposted to Elland. Follow this road for approx 4 miles. You will pass the Sportsmen’s’ Inn on your left, approximately 200 yards after the pub you will see a red bus shelter on the left. Turn left immediately after the bus shelter through the lay-by onto the farm road, which will fetch you into the yard.

FOLLOW DUAL CARRIAGEWAY TO TRAFFIC LIGHTS TURN LEFT SIGNPOSTED GREETLAND/STAINLAND. AT MINI ROUNDABOUT TAKE 1ST EXIT LEFT, AGAIN SIGNPOSTED GREETLAND/ STAINLAND B6112. AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS TURN RIGHT ONTO ROCHDALE ROAD. FOLLOW THIS ROAD UP THE HILL FOR APPROX 2 MILES. YOU WILL PASS A CHURCH THEN COMMUNITY CENTRE ON YOUR RIGHT. From North - Take A5 then A505 towards Leighton Buzzard. At roundabout (McDonalds and Total garage) turn left on A4146 towards Hemel Hampstead. After approx 500yds turn right towards Little Billington and Slapton. Continue through Little Billington and into Slapton. Immediately past the white border gates of Slapton, turn right into Bury Farm.
From South - Leave A41 at “Whipsnade/Tring” junction and follow B489 towards Ivinghoe. Stay on B488 through Tring and Bulbourne, straight over the roundabout and follow signs for Ivinghoe. At the King’s Head restaurant on your right, immediately turn right into Station Road, continuing along the B488 for 2.8 miles, through Horton (beware speed restriction!) Take first right turn, signed Slapton. Follow road through village and just as you reach outskirts of village, Bury Farm is on the left.

FROM M23 – Take Exit 10 towards East Grinstead. Pass through East Grinstead travelling south on theA22. Pass through Wych Cross and Nutley on A22 until reaching the A26 roundabout. Turn left on A26 travelling north east. After approximately 1 mile turn right into Rocks Lane (signposted High Hurstwood). At the road junction after approximately half a mile, turn left. After approximately one third of a mile turn right at the Maypole Inn into Royal Oak Lane. Follow the lane until just before the end of the tarmac road, and you will see a sign on the left at the end of the driveway for Hurstwood Farm Equestrian Centre and Holiday Cottages.
FROM TUNBRIDGE WELLS – Travel from Tunbridge Wells on the A26 south west passing through Crowborough, continuing on A26 straight across the traffic lights at Crowborough Cross. After approximately 1 ½ miles, turn left down Chillies Lane (signposted High Hurstwood). After passing the church and primary school on the left hand side, turn left at the Maypole Inn down Royal Oak Lane. Follow the lane until just before the end of the tarmac road, and you will see a sign on the left at the end of the driveway for Hurstwood Farm Equestrian Centre and Holiday Cottages.

From Colchester - take Margaretting the A12. Take the first right at the roundabout into Margaretting village, passing the Spread Eagle right and the Black Bull pub on the left. At the bottom of the hill, by the war memorial, take right turn signposted Writtle. Go over A12 flyover bridge and immediately turn left onto Ivy Barn Lane, signposted Hywood. Go down for ½ mile and look for white gates on the right. Furness Farm is up the drive. Park on the grass in the farmyard. From London - take Margaretting junction off the A12. Halfway up the slip road, turn left onto Ivy Barn Lane to Hywood. Go down the lane for half-a-mile and look for white gates on right. Furness Farm is up the drive. Park on the grass in the farmyard.

Our course is totally off-road set in tranquil open countryside and is a combination of permanent riverside grass and arable field boundaries with vehicle access to some parts of the course. We have a wide variety of obstacles which includes a water complex, steps, ditches, table, “skinny”, coffin and brush fences. Plenty for everyone, the course is ideal for all grades of riders, fittening work or just off-road hacking. The start and finish is at Baswick Bridge Livery where you need to sign in and out. Excellent parking. Please pre book.
Directions:
Take A1035 from Beverley to Leven. At Whitecross roundabout turn left into Leven village. In the centre of the village turn left at the Hare and Hounds pub down West Street. Follow road out of village for ½ mile, take next turn to right and follow for 1½ miles until you reach a T-junction. Turn left for about ½ mile and Baswick Bridge Livery is on the right side of the road.

Directions:
Course is on the A6006, five miles from Melton Mowbray and two miles from A46. From Leicester: leave the A46 at Six Hills, at the T junction turn left onto the B676 towards Melton Mowbray. At Shoby X Roads turn right onto A6006. The course is 1 mile from Shoby X roads on the right hand side. From Nottingham and Newark: leave the A46 at the junction for Melton Mowbray, turn right at the T junction onto the A6006 towards Melton Mowbray. Go straight over Shoby X roads. The course is 1 mile on the right hand side. From Melton Mowbray: take the A6006 towards Loughborough.  The course is 5 miles from Melton on the left hand side at the top of the hill.

Open – weather permitting. Intro, pre-Novice, Novice and intermediate jumps available, plus 8 superbly designed obstacles available for carriage driving. Pre booking essential. The BHS course is upgraded every year and now includes a new water complex.
Directions:
Half way between Burton on Trent and Lichfield, off A38. Take A513 at Alrewas towards Tamworth. After 1 mile, turn left under railway bridge to Catton. After 1½ miles, park on right hand side of road opposite back drive with red letter box.

From A354: follow signs to Rockbourne, Roman Villa. Three miles from that corner is a sign on the left for Tenantry Farm/UKC Rockbourne Ride. Turn there, follow concrete road for one mile. Park on right.
From A338: at Fordingbridge, head towards Damerham and Sandleheath. Drive through Sandleheath and, as you leave houses turn right towards Rockbourne and Roman Villa. Follow road past Roman Villa and go through Rockbourne village. 1½ miles from the end of Rockbourne, see a sign on the right for Tenantry Farm/UKC Rockbourne Ride. Turn there, follow concrete road for one mile. Park on right.

A very attractive course with over half running through heath and mixed woodland. The jumps are situated all round the course with the larger combinations in clearings. Directions:
From north - pick up A41 at junction 3 M54, follow signs for Wolverhampton. Stay on A41 for 5.5 miles, through two sets of traffic lights. At third set of lights turn right, signed Perton. After lights turn right at both roundabouts signposted Pattingham. After second roundabout turn right at lights and continue to Pattingham (2 miles). Once in Pattingham turn left between the church and Pigot Arms. After 300 metres turn right down Chesterton Road (signed Rudge Riding). The entrance to Rudge Riding is 1 mile on the left.
From south - Follow A454 or B4176 to Rudge Heath, about halfway between Bridgenorth and Wolverhampton. From Rudge Heath follow A454 to Wolverhampton. Take first left signed Rudge Riding. After 1 mile turn right to Pattingham. The entrance to Rudge Riding is 1 mile on the left.

Whichever direction you approach from, get onto the A16 Louth Bypass. At staggered junction where A16 meets A153, take road to Louth town centre then, almost immediately, turn left at white house (signposted Hallington and Hubbards Hill). After 1 mile, take left fork. Road goes downhill round steep left hand bend. T bottom of hill, turn into yard immediately after signpost and post box. Sign by brick wall says Home Farm, Hallington Farming Company.

Eland Lodge is a spectacularly beautiful course which is set in a natural amphitheatre at the junction of two streams. From a spectator’s point of view the entire course can be seen from a couple of locations. The views from the Brick Kiln complex which is set on a hill are exceptionally fine, overlooking Hollybush Hall and its grounds. The course has been extensively developed over the last few years with fences ranging from a 60cm Mini Course to full British Eventing Intro, Pre-Novice and Novice courses, which includes a water complex complete with a swan’s nest and eggs as well as an “Owl Hole” throughwhich the horse must jump. Full descriptions and pictures of all the fences can be seen on the website. Parking is unlimited and stabling can be provided nearby. Our superb Eland Lodge shop is open from 9am to 5.30pm daily and from 10am to 4pm on a Sunday and stocks everything for horse and rider as well as a wide range of leisure and outdoor clothing. At junction 1 of the M69, take the exit for Wolvey and then take the first turn on the right to Burton Hastings. The farm entrance is the first right after about 300 yards. Follow the drive past a pair of cottages and over the motorway bridge to the farm.

Directions:
Travel to the Island with your horsebox, is by ferry from Heysham, leaving the M6 at junction 34 for Lancaster. Upon disembarking in Douglas, follow signs for the A1 towards Peel. At Ballacraine lights, turn right onto the A3 for Kirk Michael and the North. Passing through the villages of Kirk Michael and Ballaugh, upon reaching Sulby, turn left at the bridge taking the A17 north through St. Judes towards Andreas. Courses set in 200 acres of private coniferous woodlands and parkland. Excellent going due to sand and peaty soil. 5 courses covering over 4 miles, including 2 ‘diddy’ courses of 1’6” and 2’0” heights. All fences can be jumped both ways including sleepers, bank, water complex, walls, hedges and trakehener. New showjumping area available and four dressage arenas, two are all weather. Many of the jumps are used annually by the A.W. Hunt, and Bromsgrove DR Club for their hunter trials. Overnight stabling available,together with accommodation.
